My Book Sucks Weekly Roundup
This week is chockfull of tips, Twitter stuff, and excellent micro fiction, so buckle up!
Congratulations on making it through another incredible week of writing. Let’s celebrate by taking a look at everything that’s gone on in the Writing Cinematic Universe since the last time we met. Shall we?
TWITTER STUFF
A lot of randomness went down on Twitter this week, and since the average tweet has like a 1/2 second life span, you’d be forgiven for missing a few things. Here are a few highlights from around the #writingcommunity.

DOCUMENTING FAILURE
As of right now, I have one self-published horror novella called The Sisters. I feel pretty good about it, so I'm in the process of querying agents to see if there might be some poor soul who wants to represent my story. As an ulterior motive, I'm also trying to get better at the querying process since I have two full length novels that are close to being query ready soon. So, I figure I should document my process for y’all. That way you won't just know what to do, but also what not to do.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: JAME MARSHALL FLEMING
Jane Marshall Fleming does a little of everything. Collage artists, PhD student, and published author, Jane likes to push the boundaries of her art, finding the hidden truth in her real life experiences. As a poet and creative nonfiction author, Jane has published one book already, and has a second out for pre-order with the indie publisher, Rhythm & Bones.
I sat down with Jane for a brief chat over Twitter to discuss her work and her writing process.

WRITING TIP
When researching this blog, I found surprisingly few platforms dedicated to the process of querying. There were some for agents to manage their query submissions, but of the few query tracking sites I found, the best was QueryTracker. The free version isn't exactly pretty, and it doesn't come with a ton of bells and whistles, but it does exactly what a querying author needs: helps them find agents to query, gather info about the agents, and keep track of the letters they've sent out. The paid version has a bit more to it (like advanced search), and is only $25/year, so you might as well take a look at that as well to see if there are features you want to pay for.
